David Hilton has been designing cars for Chinese OEMs and startups since 2015, starting with the first three projects by Nio – the EP9, ES8 and Eve Concept – before assuming his current role at GAC in 2018.
Before his move to China, he worked around the world for the likes of Ford in Detroit, Cologne and London, VW in Brazil, and Mazda in Japan. He joined Bentley in 2011-2013, overseeing such projects as the Bentayga, Continental GT and GT3, Mulsanne Convertible, Flying Spur, and the ‘Bentley Brand Identity’ book.
In 2000 he founded MotorCityEurope, creating mobility projects for numerous global brands.
